Virgin Voyages 5 Things to Pack: for Women

Published by

I didn’t know what to pack for my Virgin Voyages cruise. When packing for my first Virgin Voyages cruise, I was ill-prepared. I packed entirely too much and nothing right for the cruise. Fortunately, Virgin Voyages has a laundry service, and I was able to get some of my soiled clothes back for the end of the cruise. Everyone knows about packing something red for Scarlet Night and you may even know that there is a disco-themed party on-board as well. So, I am going to focus on the five things I wish I would’ve known when packing for my cruise:

Sports bras

You are likely cruising somewhere warm. You will sweat. Pack plenty of sports bras for daytime activities (when you’re not lounging in a swimsuit), and you won’t ruin your good bras with excessive sweat pooling. Likewise Virgin Voyages offers so many activities like 90’s boy band dance class, bungee aerobics, and sunrise yoga. You will want something comfortable that you can sweat in!

At least two swimsuits

Nobody likes putting on a wet swimsuit! With options like the swimming pool, hot tubs, and the spa (sauna, steam room, salt room, and mud bath), you have plenty of options to get wet and will want to change into a different suit when the occasion presents itself! A cover up is not necessary, but if it makes you feel more comfortable, go for it.

Skip the shampoo

Virgin Voyages offers high quality shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, and body wash in every room, so you will not need to pack these extras, leaving more room in your suitcase for souvenirs!

Shoes for every occasion

Obviously, you are going to pack shoes, but what kind of shoes? Bring comfortable athletic shoes and plenty of socks. There is a lot of walking on board the ship, and some Shore Things and exercise classes require you to wear closed-toe athletic shoes! I literally broke two pairs of sandals on board because they were too flimsy and couldn’t withstand the amount of walking that I did. Likewise, you may want water shoes, a comfy pair of Crocs, or some sandals for the more casual times on the ship and at the beach club!

A light jacket

Evenings can get breezy out on the ocean. Pack a light jacket if you are cruising in December or January! When you’re packing for a cruise, it’s smart to layer so you’re prepared for anything mother nature throws your way.

Final thoughts: What to pack for a Virgin Voyages cruise

Those are the five things I wish I knew to pack for my Virgin Voyages cruise. As for what to wear, I found that I was most comfortable being casual. Shorts and a tank top were my standard outfit and I never felt out of place or underdressed.

Also, I think it’s worthy to note that there is a makeup store onboard the ship, so if you forget your eyeliner, hop down to Makeup Porthole on Deck 6 and treat yourself to some MAC Cosmetics.
