The Virgin Voyages RockStar quarters are some of the sexiest cabins at sea with some great perks. We stayed in a Mega RockStar cabin and loved every second of it. Of course, you’re going to pay a premium for a RockStar suite. Do you want to sail like a RockStar without breaking the bank? Here’s how you can (almost) get the RockStar treatment without staying in a RockStar cabin.
Get a bigger bathroom with the Sea Terrace XL
The Sea Terrace XL is the biggest (non RockStar) cabin on Virgin Voyages ships. The Sea Terrace XL is 40sf bigger than the Sea Terrace, and most of that is in the bathroom. If you’re traveling solo, this might not be a big deal. While the Sea Terrace bathroom is big enough for my wife and I (as long as one of us is in the shower), you’ll appreciate the extra space that comes with the Sea Terrace XL

Add A Splash of Romance for almost-RockStar perks
The Splash of Romance package costs $200 per couple (not cabin, if you’re traveling with a larger party) at the time of writing this post. Splash of Romance gives you some great perks that will make you feel like a RockStar. I’ll cover some Splash of Romance highlights here, but Kelly gives an in-depth review of the Splash of Romance package in her post, “Is Splash of Romance worth the extra cost.” Spoiler alert, it is.
Splash of Romance priority boarding
RockStar sailors get to board before anyone else on the ship. This is a great perk because boarding first gives you priority booking for popular events. It also means less time waiting in lines
Splash of Romance spa day
Splash of Romance includes two complimentary, three hour spa passes. Just head down to the Redemption Spa and book your time. Relax and recover with a mud room, salt room, sauna, steam room, hot and cold plunge pools, and heated marble hammam benches.
Splash of Romance Shake for Champagne
Here’s a perk not even RockStars get! The Splash of Romance package includes one complimentary Shake for Champagne, where you can get a bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne delivered anywhere on the ship. Rent a cabana at the Beach Club at Bimini
Cabanas give you a lot of the great perks you would get inside the exclusive RockStar Retreat without the RockStar price. Cabanas are amazing because they give you a reserved, shaded area for up to four sailors, complete with day beds and waiter service. Shaded loungers can be hard to get at Bimini, so you’ll appreciate having your own space for the day. You even have outlets to charge your devices! Cabanas also include the first round of drinks, up to $100. Pricing varies, but cabanas start around $350 for the full day.
How much does it cost to sail like a RockStar on a Sea Terrace budget?
I’ve included some sample pricing below for two sailors, so you can see how you can (almost) sail like a RockStar on a Sea Terrace budget. Of course, your price will vary based on your voyage date, itinerary, and number of sailors.
Virgin Voyages RockStar vs Sea Terrace Pricing
- Seriously Suite Rockstar Quarters – $6,380 (Does not include Splash of Romance or a cabana)
- Sea Terrace XL – $3,850 = $3,300 voyage fare + $200 Splash of Romance + $350 Cabana
- Sea Terrace – $3,320 = $2,770 voyage fare + $200 Splash of Romance + $350 Cabana
Remember, the Splash of Romance easily gives you over $200 value, and the cabana rental includes your first round of drinks, so it’s well worth it to add both.
There are some perks you cannot get without a RockStar Suite, such as exclusive Richard’s Rooftop access and the on-board RockStar agent. We sailed RockStar, and we absolutely loved the perks, but you can get a lot of great benefits with a couple of add-ons and still save some serious money in the process.
