Are you a RockStar or a Mega RockStar?

RockStar Quarters are some of the biggest and best suites at sea, with the smallest RockStar cabin over 100sf bigger than the largest Sea Terrace cabin. Every RockStar suite features an in-room bar, a vinyl record player, and a huge luxurious bathroom. Every RockStar suite has a balcony big enough for your entire entourage and is perfect for hosting parties. Best of all RockStar Quarters feature a true European king bed!

Mega RockStar suites are even bigger and include a bottomless in-room bar. That’s right, polish off that bottle of gin and your RockStar agent will bring you another! Best of all, it’s all included with your voyage fare.

RockStar and Mega RockStar perks

You’ll notice the perks before you even step onboard. RockStars get their own private boarding lounge with snacks and beverages. You just have to worry about getting to port. However, if you’re a Mega Rockstar, Virgin Voyages even has that covered with complimentary transfers to and from the ship. Our driver picked us up promptly at the hotel and had water waiting for us. We absolutely loved not having to wait for an Uber to the airport as our driver whisked us away the moment we left the ship.

Speaking of waiting, RockStars don’t wait in line. RockStars are the first to board the ship on embarkation day, which is awesome because it gives you the opportunity to book activities before everyone else. RockStars also skip the line when returning to the ship on port days; a nice perk if you don’t like standing on a hot sunny pier waiting for your fellow sailors to figure out how to go through security.

I even skipped the line at a busy bar! I was waiting in line for frozen mojitos and someone came and asked what I’d like. I explained I was waiting in line and she said, “Dustin, you’re a RockStar, you don’t wait in line.” I felt a little guilty skipping the line, but not guilty enough to decline this amazing perk! When I placed my order I asked, “how did you know my name?” She gave me a smile and said, “it’s my job to know your name.” How RockStar is that?

Every RockStar also gets a RockStar agent. As the name implies, your RockStar agent will help you schedule events and can even make restaurant reservations in sold out restaurants. Your RockStar agent is dedicated to making sure you have the best experience at sea. Be sure to tell them how they can make your cruise even more amazing.

Mega RockStars get a daily Bar Tab

Mega RockStars live at the top of society. No really, Mega RockStar suites are the only cabins you’ll find at the top of the ship on Deck 15, giving you a tremendous view of every port. Some even have a separate living room for hosting parties! But perhaps the best perk of being a Mega RockStar is the daily Bar Tab. There are some limitations, of course, but every drink up to $25 is complimentary, and you can even get up to two bottles up to $90 per DAY. All this in addition to your bottomless in-room bar. If you’re the type of cruiser who likes to throw back some drinks and share with your friends, you just might be a Mega RockStar!

Richards Rooftop exclusive RockStar lounge

RockStars and Mega RockStars have exclusive access to Richard’s Rooftop, a fancy and quieter outdoor lounge at the front of the ship. Richards Rooftop also offers a complimentary champagne hour daily, so RockStars can save their Bar Tab for other adventures.

Richards Rooftop has a different vibe than the rest of the ship. While DJs mix hot dance tracks at the pool, Richards Rooftop is a bit quieter. We appreciated this when we needed to get a little space. Richards Rooftop also offers comfy daybeds and hot tubs, both of which can sometimes be tough to find anywhere else onboard. We took full advantage of this and watched sunsets with a champagne in our own hot tub for two.

Why I loved sailing as a RockStar

RockStar or not, you will have a great time on your Virgin Voyages Cruise. We have sailed both as Mega RockStars and in a Sea Terrace Suite. The Sea Terrace is a great cabin, but it simply cannot compare to the Posh Suite and all the Mega RockStar perks.

I missed the second bathroom that came with the Posh Suite. I missed Richards Rooftop when I sailed in a Sea Terrace Suite. But most of all, I missed our RockStar agent who always went above-and-beyond to make us happy. He was always just a message or phone call away and helped us get same-day reservations at The Wake. He even delivered pizzas and snacks when we hosted a party in our room.

Next time I sail RockStar, I plan to spend a good portion of my time lounging in a hot tub on Richards Rooftop while a server brings me glass after glass of Moët & Chandon or vodka Sugar Free Red Bulls. I plan to nap at the quiet RockStar retreat at the Beach Club at Bimini. Heck, I might even make use of the unlimited spa access that I missed the first time around. But most of all, I plan to host more pre-karaoke parties so my entourage can destroy our bottomless in-room bar. I am a RockStar after all. Are you?
