What To Wear to Virgin Voyages Theme Parties

Published by

Virgin Voyages has a number of themed parties that occur onboard their ships. If you plan to participate, it is crucial to know what to pack and what to wear during these amazing events. Luckily, I am here to help navigate you through what to pack for the Pajama Party, Scarlet Night, and Studio 72.

Pajama Party

The first night on the ship is a pajama party, where all sailors meet up and dance the night away in their pajamas.

You may be wondering what types of pajamas are seen at the Pajama Party. That’s ok! I was wondering this as well. I ended up settling on green floral satin pajamas, while Dustin wore a t-shirt and pajama pants.

There were so many different variations of pajamas at this party. We saw people wearing pajamas that barely covered anything to people in pajamas that covered every inch of their body. We saw people not only in pajamas, but in robes, sexy baby doll nighties, and large onesies with feet. It was an absolute blast!

The only thing that is considered unacceptable is your birthday suit or any nudity. Sorry for all of you who don’t wear any pajamas to bed – you will have to fake it for this one!

Scarlet Night

Scarlet Night is the highlight of your trip when you sail with Virgin Voyages. Imagine a sea of people, all wearing red and dancing around the pool. There are lights, music, and a giant octopus… all key components to make up the best party on the sea – Scarlet Night!

The words Scarlet Night appear on a TV screen.

It’s customary to wear red on Scarlet Night. There are people in red suits, red ball gowns, and red t-shirts. It doesn’t matter what you wear, as long as it’s red!

Posing on Scarlet Night – I had on red glitter pants, but they didn’t make it into any of the pictures!

One thing to note – the portion of the evening spent dancing around the pool usually ends up with several people IN the pool. You do not have to get in the pool, but the option is there! If you do not want your clothes to get wet, it is best to avoid the pool area on Scarlet Night.

Studio 72

Studio 72 is a 70s-themed dance party in The Manor. Besides having the sweet disco beats and funky tunes of the 70s, many people bring their retro duds such as bell bottoms, florals, platform shoes, and tube tops. If you forget your vintage attire, it’s ok – there are plenty of people who had no idea that there was a 70s party and just wore their everyday attire to dance the night away.

Final Thoughts

As always, wear what is comfortable for you. Do not feel pressured or obligated to participate in any of the themed parties onboard the ship, even though you may enjoy it if you do! Comfort is key when you are cruising on Virgin Voyages.
