Three fun things to do in Miami before your cruise

Published by

Clients often ask, “Can I fly into Miami on the same day as my cruise?” The answer depends on several factors, but the better question is, “why would you want to?” Here are three fun and unique things you must try before your next cruise out of the Port of Miami.

Miami Beach Art Deco District

We love the Art Deco district and all the bars, restaurants, and nightlife it has to offer. I love Art Deco architecture and vibrant colors, and South Beach is popping with both. We like to spend our days strolling the Miami Beach Beachwalk where sugar-sand beaches, street art, and divine architecture all melt into an incredible experience you won’t find anywhere else.

We love adventures and are always trying new things. Here’s some inspiration for your next overnight in Miami.

The Art Deco District is filled with amazing architecture and is steps away from the beach. Here you will find a ton of restaurants and things to do. Take a food and Art Deco walking tour where you’ll learn some South Beach history while sampling dishes from local restaurants. The Art Deco District gets even more beautiful when the sun goes down and the lights come up. Take a stroll down Ocean Drive and stop in at the hopping bars for a cocktail and live music. If the party scene isn’t your thing, go on a ghost walking tour to get your fill of a different variety of spirits.

Take an airboat tour through Everglades National Park

Everglades National Park is located just a short drive from Miami. Everglades National Park is the third largest in the United States and is home to several rare species such as manatees, American Crocodiles, and even the elusive Florida Panther. Don’t have a car? No problem! Book an airboat tour with roundtrip transportation right from South Beach and leave the driving to someone else. Just be sure to keep your hands and feet in the boat at all times!

Reel in a trophy on a deep sea fishing charter

If you like to be a little more hands-on with wildlife, book a full or half day deep sea fishing charter. Fish the Gulf shores and coastal waters with experienced captains who know where to catch fish. Some charters even pick you up directly at your hotel. Just be sure to have someone back home who can store your catch for you, because several charters will clean and ship your catch back in dry ice.
